The Bowmanville Creek Anglers are a non-profit club formed in the mid 1980’s and restarted in 2013. Their mission is:

The club is involved in stream improvements and conservation projects with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority, Valleys 2000, and the Municipality of Clarington. In 2013 many of its members were involved in hand lifting over 10,000 Salmon and Trout over the Goodyear Dam on Bowmanville Creek (5,540 fish had been lifted in 2012), while a new bypass channel was being constructed.
The club teaches youth and new anglers about river and great lakes fishing for salmon and trout. They bring in guest speakers from the fishing industry for meetings, so that members can benefit and learn from experts in their fields.
The club has raised money and collected food for the local Salvation Army food bank through its annual Christmas party and Annual Bowmanville Tackle Swap and Fishing Show.
Proud partners include Tourism Clarington, Shimano Canada, Streamside, River Master, Raven Tackle, Gagnon Sports, Sail Oshawa, Sport Durham, Metro East Anglers, Valleys 2000, CLOCA, Bowmanville Home Depot, Redwing Tackle, Tim Horton’s Newcastle, Bowmanville Salvation Army, the Bowmanville Rotary club, and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters.
