Thursday January 22nd, Valleys President Kim Maxwell presented to the pre-budget Committee; MPP McCarthy, MPP Coe and MPP Bethlenfalvy in Bowmanville at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex.
The 3 minute proposal included requests for funding from the Ontario government for the next phases of the Zoo Park, then entrance and the amphitheatre.
The Entrance project with an estimated cost of $4,350,000 will include a grand gateway with a pavilion, public art, demonstration gardens, parking, and a bridge with trail connections into the park.
The Amphitheatre, with an estimated cost of $1,170,000 will offer a large venue to entice more performances to our community and otherwise be available to families for their enjoyment, maximizing usage of the space. This phase includes terraced Seating, Pedestrian Trails a Butterfly Gardens and other features.
